Flabbergasted
Johan proves to us that he’s worth the millions. The Secret Weapon stays hot, hitting a huge two-out bomb. Ramon Castro, who drives in a run every time he's up, hits a homer. And the Mets’ bullpen, minus Wags, with first-place three outs away, blows it.
Disgusting.
I hate the Phillies.

Cheer up Dan, "we have 60 games remaining."
: )
Thanks, Lisa. I'll try. But I'm not sure I can survive many more like this one.
As big as tonight was, tomorrow is even more cruicial now. Remember the Mets lost the first game in Philly too (not in such dramatic fashion of course, but still.) Once they won the next three, the first game was pretty much forgotten.
They need to do that again. Starting tomorrow.
They need to let Philadelphia know, yeah we let one get away but that's all you're gonna get.
Important game tomorrow? Ya think?
Lisa,
I would like to say something upbeat – like “we’ll get them today” or “divisions aren’t won in July” – but to be honest nothing defines our loyalty to the Mets quite as elegantly as last night’s loss to the Phillies.
On a night when everything goes right, everything goes wrong.
Last night was pathetic.
I think we all (Met fans) may have lost our collective heads a little bit with the 10 game streak. Since that streak the Mets have pretty much returned to form -- a team that will be maddeningly inconsistent, sometimes undisciplined, erratic, non-opportunistic mediocre baseball team.
Far as I'm concerned, if they lose this series it wipes out all the good will from the streak.
